BRG Kings Island Golf Resort is a 55 hole golf resort in the outskirts of Hanoi. The golf resort lies on the shores of the Dong Mo reservoir 36 kilometers from Hanoi. At only 45 minutes drive from the capital, King’s Island is high quality and convenient choice to include in any Vietnam golf package. In a uniquely Vietnamese touch, access to the course is by boat. The island golf complex situated site comprises 350 hectares of land and 1,500 hectares of waterfront.

BRG Kings Island Golf Resort còn có tên thuần Việt là sân Đảo Vua hay sân Đồng Mô là sân golf đầu tiên ra đời tại miền Bắc (năm 1993). CLB tọa lạc tại khu vực hồ Đồng Mô, Sơn Tây, Hà Nội, với diện tích 350ha mặt đất và 1.500 ha mặt hồ, bao gồm 3 sân tgolfer: Lakeside, Mountainview và King’s Course.

* Sân Lakeside

Là sân golf đầu tiên mở cửa ở Hà Nội, sân Lakeside ra đời năm 1993, được thiết kế bởi Robert Mc Farland, một kiến trúc sư người Mỹ nổi tiếng với những dự án lớn như Mission Hills tại California, Mỹ.

Trong quá trình thiết kế sân Lakeside, vấn đề thách thức nhất là vừa phải giữ nguyên được địa thế nơi đây, đồng thời vẫn giữ được các bẫy nước tự nhiên. Vị kiến trúc sư tài hoa đã tận dụng những lợi thế này để thiết kế những hố golf cạnh hồ nước xung quanh.

Sân golf có chiều 6.516 yard, par 72 này sẽ đem lại cho người chơi nhiều thách thức bất kể handicap hay trình độ của golfer như thế nào. Các green ở đây khá nhỏ nhưng rất đẹp. Cỏ trồng tại các green là giống cỏ TifDwarf, còn tại các fairways sử dụng cỏ Bermuda.

Sân Lakeside được bảo dưỡng định kỳ bởi các chuyên gia nước ngoài và đội ngũ nhân viên tại địa phương chuyên nghiệp nhằm đảm bảo sân luôn ở trong điều kiện tốt nhất để phục vụ người chơi.

* Sân Mountainview

Sân Mountainview được thiết kế năm 2004 bởi Công ty Pacific Coast Designs, Australia. Công ty này từng thiết kế lên những dự án khắp khu vực Đông Nam Á, trong đó phải kể đến sân golf Alpine tại Bangkok, Thái Lan và Hong Kong Country Club.

Các kiến trúc sư đ ã tận dụng hết những khung cảnh tuyệt vời của những dãy đồi bao quanh Làng Văn Hóa và Du lịch các Dân tộc Việt Nam để thiết kế sân Moutainview tiêu chuẩn 18 hố, Par 72 trải dài trên 7,000 yards.

Những người đam mê golf sẽ thích thú khi được chơi trên nền cỏ Novotec, loại cỏ đặc biệt được nhập khẩu từ Australia có thể chịu được khí hậu khắc nghiệt, thất thường của miền Bắc Việt Nam. Giống như sân Lakeside, cỏ được trồng trên Fairway của sân Mountainview là loại cỏ Bermuda. Khung cảnh tuyệt thiên nhiên của sân golfsẽ thực sự đem lại cho các golfer những trải nghiệm đáng nhớ.

* Sân Kings Course

Sân Kings Course (19 hố) là sân golf mới nhất tại BRG Kings Island Golf Resort, mở cửa năm 2018. Sân golf mới này được thiết kế bởi Jack Nicklaus II, Chủ tịch của công
ty thiết kế sân golf danh tiếng thế giới Nicklaus Design, được sáng lập bởi huyền thoại golf Jack Nicklaus.

Jack II đã thiết kế King Course lấy cảm hứng từ vẻ đẹp và những điều kiện sẵn có của hòn đảo. Chín hố đầu được thiết kế hài hòa với khung cảnh rừng tự nhiên với những hố golf đầy thử thách. Chín hố sau tạo ra những thử thách tuyệt vời với các hồ nước lớn tuyệt đẹp bao quanh.

Đặc biệt golfer sẽ được trải nghiệm hố golf thứ 19 (betting hole) với vị trí phát bóng được đặt trên đỉnh thác nước để đánh về green trên đảo. Theo chia sẻ của nhà thiết kế Jack Nicklaus II thì đây chính là món quà đặc biệt mà ông muốn dành tặng tới các golfer tại Việt Nam.

BRG Kings Island Golf Resort is a 55 hole golf resort in the outskirts of Hanoi. The golf resort lies on the shores of the Dong Mo reservoir 36 kilometers from Hanoi.

Lakeside Course (Robert McFarland course with scenic lakeside views)

The Lakeside Course name says it all, with 14 holes bringing water into play. Opened in 1997 and designed by Robert McFarland of the United States, many of the holes play beside the banks of the surrounding lakes. The Lakeside Course plays across two islands and a peninsula forming part of the reservoir. Views of the Ba Vi mountain range providing a stunning backdrop to the artificial lake, while the Red River Valley is visible in the distance.

Measuring 6,516 yards from tips this Par 72 will challenges golfers regardless of handicap and golfing capability. The Lakeside Course includes numerous and varied uses of the water surrounding the course and the gently rolling terrain. The dwarf Bermuda grass greens are small in size and have few undulations. Fairways are well-groomed with tight Bermuda grass lies being the norm.

Many of the hidden greens require accurate carries over the lake or swampy terrain. A favorite hole is the thirteenth, a par-5 with the tee shot having to clear a gorge. Also a par-5, the 572-yard seventh is another standout, featuring a double dogleg from an elevated tee. Probably the most memorable hole is the fourteenth, the highest point on the course with excellent views.

The BRG Golf Resort Lakeside Course is floodlight making late tee times and evening starts available to anyone who prefers to play at that time of day.

Mountainview Course (parkland track through rolling hills and mature hardwood forests)

The Mountainview Course plays in the interior of Kings Island. Designed in 2004 by Pacific Coast Design from Australia, holes at Mountainview take full advantage of the scenery of the surrounding mountains and the nearby authentic Vietnam ethnic village. All 18 holes play through hardwood forests and jungle land.

The par-72 layout stretches to over 7,000 yards from the back tees and is suitable for international competitions. Putting surface are planted with Novotec Bermuda grass that stays green year round, even in the cooler damp weather of Hanoi. The Mountainview course after its renovations in 2017 is one of the best parkland courses in the North of Vietnam.

Kings Course (excellent Jack Nicklaus design)

The Kings Course is the newest 18 at Kings Island. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened for play in 2018 all 18 holes feature a modern resort style layout. Wide fairways with intricate bunker complexes characterize each hole.

More open as compared to both the Lakeside and Mountainview Courses, the Kings Course is the best choice for club golfers. That said the 7,310-yard layout is no pushover for the more accomplished players. Accurate shots into the greens are needed to score well. Some of the best holes include the 196 yard fourth and 232-yard seventeenth. Both are par-3’s and play to severely bunkered greens.

BRG Kings Island Golf Resort features a clubhouse with an excellent restaurant serving a wide range of cuisines. There is also a bar, which is a great place to relax after a round. In addition to golf, the club also offers other activities including sailing and fishing on Dong Mo Lake and swimming in the club’s Olympic-sized swimming pool. There are a few rooms on site which may be rented out at certain times of the year. However, most golfers will choose to go back to Hanoi after their rounds at Kings Island.
